Preparing the hair extensions to be re-taped:

Once the tape hair extensions have been removed from the hair using Lauard Safe Tape Remover, it is important that they are prepared correctly for retaping by following the steps below:

1. Remove any used tape adhesive layer from the lining of the hair extensions.

2. Wash the hair extensions thoroughly using sulfate-free clarifying shampoo to deep clean the hair and remove any product build-up. Focus on clarifying the lining where the tape is placed on the hair extension to make sure that all residues are removed. We recommend using Lauard First Wash Shampoo for a fresh, clean, and oil-free finish. 

3. Deeply condition the ends to mid-lengths of the tape hair extensions without touching the linings of the hair extensions. Failing to do so will definitely lead to slippage no matter what method you’re installing. Rinse thoroughly.

4. Dry and straighten the hair extensions before you begin retaping process.


Retaping the hair extensions:

Now that the hair extensions have been prepared, you can begin the retaping process.

1. Take 1 hair extension piece and lay flat on a clean surface.

2. Peel away one piece of tape tab from the sheet, and carefully apply the new tape piece directly where the original tape was applied.

3. Firmly press together. For extra security, firmly press tape tab and hair extension lining together using the Lauard Pro Press.

4. Trim off any extra tape hanging off the end of the lining.

5. Your hair extensions are now retaped. When you are ready to install the hair extension pieces, simply remove the white backing from the tape tab.

 

PRO TIP: You will need to fully wash your hair with the Lauard First Wash Shampoo on the day of the installation to start with fresh, clean, and non-oily hair. If you do not wash your hair thoroughly using suitable shampoo, the tape hair extensions will not be fitted securely.

The only difference is that the Strong Tape Roll gives you the flexibility to cut any desired length to fit your tape hair extension lining, while the Strong Tape Tabs are already pre-cut at 4 cm to match the standard lining of tape hair extensions on the market.  

The Strong Tape Tabs adhesive is formulated without toxic ingredients, such as Paragons or Phthalates, and it contains anti-bacterial properties that make it safe to use on your bio hair. It is also allergy-free (it does not contain Latex which causes itchiness for many people). In fact, most adhesive tapes on the market may harbour bacteria collected from exposure to everyday water, air, and styling products, which may cause itchy scalp, bad odor, and long-term hair loss, all of which can be eliminated with the use of our Strong Hold Tape Tabs.

Yes, the Strong Tape Tabs is waterproof. However, waterproof does not mean chlorine-proof. It also doesn’t mean salt-proof. Neither does it mean oil-proof. Therefore, you must avoid exposing your tape hair extensions to chlorinated pools, salty oceans, and oil-based products to maintain the livelihood of your hair and prolong the duration of the worn hair extensions.

Each sheet contains 12 tape tabs. You can re-tape 12 pieces of standard tape hair extensions from 1 sheet.

With each tape tab, you can re-tape up to 4 cm of tape hair extension lining from any brand. If your tape hair extension lining is less than 4 cm in length, you can trim off any extra tape tab hanging off the end of the lining.
